Mission
The basic mission of the Health SIG is to promote the interests of QTIG members in the health sector. The supporting objectives are:
- To build strong links between industry and Queensland's health sector by bringing together the following groups:
- Health sector people with an interest in IT&T
- IT&T industry people with an interest in health
- To provide an opportunity for collaboration within industry to address the many business opportunities in the Queensland health sector.
- To be active in dealing with government bodies in the development of policies and programs that relate to potential business opportunities for QTIG members.

Operation of SIG
- Meets on the fourth Tuesday of most months. There is no charge for the meetings and anyone with an interest in Health IT&T is welcome to attend.
- IT&T industry people are encouraged to join QTIG, and health sector people to join AHIA (Qld) - Australian Health Informatics Association.
- Meeting notices are sent by email to the ahia-qld email list, distributed by fax, and published on the SIG's web-site.
