Background and Need
The basic hypothesis explored is that there are business and patient benefits to be obtained if data from tests performed by the private pathology laboratories is a) readily available electronically to clinicians in the hospitals in the Herston campus, and b) integrated with relevant Queensland Health information systems.
Description of Service
Jeff Parker, while the head of CTG Healthcare Consulting, delivered this consultancy, which entailed gathering requirements, preparing a Discussion Paper for consultation, and designing and supporting the implementation and evaluation of a Pilot Project to test the feasibility.
Outcomes
A high level of clinician support for the idea was received, and the idea was shown to be feasible.
