Client: IIB (Information Industries Board), the IPB (Information Policy Board) and Queensland Health (QH), of the Queensland Government
Timeframe: 1995
Description of Service
Jeff Parker led a number of significant consultancies and industry activities during this early period of Health IT development in Queensland.
A key early output of this work that was the product of broad consultation was the HIID (Health Information Industries Development) Program's Green Paper (attached below), written in April 1995, which discussed Health IT&T in Queensland and outlines a development strategy.
During this same period, Jeff led an industry group called the QTIG Health SIG. An archive of its web-site is available
here – provided on an as-is basis, i.e. there are some broken links and functions, but the list of speakers and topics will be of interest to many in the sector.
Outcomes
This green paper and the subsequent program of activities is the genesis of what became CHIC (Collaborative Health Informatics Centre), which was a partnership between the IIB and Queensland Health with the goal to create a vibrant Health IT industry in Queensland.
